Established in 2010, the Center operates as a vital NGO, focusing on developing and implementing interest-based negotiation skills among local leaders and community members to mitigate violence and encourage collaborative problem-solving. The Iraqi Center for Negotiation Skills and Conflict Management supports a robust nationwide network of over 350 Iraqi leaders committed to reconciliation and good governance. This diverse network includes men and women from various backgrounds—Sunni and Shia, Arabs and Kurds, Christians, tribal elders, religious leaders, government officials, politicians, and civil society representatives from every region of Iraq. These individuals work together, transcending regional, political, and sectarian lines to address significant disputes, such as tribal conflicts over land, tensions between citizens and government, and election-related disagreements.

The Center’s primary address is in Karrada, Baghdad, IQ. Through ongoing support, network members are increasingly successful in resolving disputes and achieving agreements, demonstrably reducing violent incidents through their interventions.
