Global Water Partnership-Mediterranean (GWP-Med) is dedicated to creating a water-secure Mediterranean region. GWP-Med actively promotes the implementation of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) and the sustainable utilization of water resources, incorporating the Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystems (WEFE) Nexus approach.

Based in Athens, with its primary address at 12, Kyrristou Str., 105 56, GR, Global Water Partnership-Mediterranean (GWP-Med) serves as a facilitator for a multi-stakeholder platform. This platform connects ten major regional networks from diverse water-related disciplines, including government, river basins, local authorities, professionals, NGOs, research institutes, and irrigators. Furthermore, it engages over 80 institutions and organizations from both EU and non-EU countries, driving collaborative efforts and knowledge exchange.

Operating at regional, national, local, and transboundary levels, Global Water Partnership-Mediterranean (GWP-Med) offers technical support for policy development, facilitates dialogues on water security and IWRM, and implements impactful demonstration projects. The organization addresses various aspects of governance for IWRM, water financing, climate change adaptation, river basin management, and stakeholder participation.
