Agro Consortium

Agro Consortium is dedicated to providing comprehensive insurance solutions tailored to the agricultural sector. Understanding the critical importance of crops and livestock, Agro Consortium operates the Uganda Agriculture Insurance Scheme (UAIS), a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) in collaboration with the Government of Uganda through the Ministry of Finance Planning and Economic Development (MoFPED). This initiative is implemented in partnership with the Uganda Insurers Association.

As a coalition of 11 insurance companies licensed to underwrite agriculture insurance in Uganda, Agro Consortium offers country-wide insurance premium subsidies to farmers. These subsidies range from 30% to 80%, based on the scale of farming operations and the susceptibility of the region to disasters. Agro Consortium is committed to supporting both large-scale and small-scale farmers, ensuring they have the financial protection needed to thrive.
