We respond to the critical needs and hopes of mothers who survived horrific trauma against all odds and their children
Foundation Rwanda is dedicated to responding to the critical needs and hopes of mothers who survived horrific trauma and their children. Established in 2007, Foundation Rwanda empowers second-generation survivors born of rapes during the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda, and their mothers, through education and holistic support. Foundation Rwanda operates with a clear mission: to support educational opportunities, including secondary school, vocational training, and university scholarships for second-generation survivors.
Located in Kigali, Rwanda, and with an additional address in New York at Nassau Street, New York, New York 10038, US, Foundation Rwanda also focuses on linking families to essential mental health, medical, and social support services. Furthermore, Foundation Rwanda empowers families economically through income-generating and financial literacy programs, as well as small business innovation grants. The organization strives to create awareness about the consequences of genocide and sexual violence through photography and new media.
Foundation Rwanda’s commitment extends to fostering a supportive community where individuals can thrive. Since its inception, over 830 students have graduated from secondary school or vocational training, a testament to the organization’s impact. Foundation Rwanda continues to amplify the voices of nearly 1700 women and their offspring, driving meaningful change and promoting healing. We invite the management team at Foundation Rwanda to create a customized and exclusive company showcase and product listing on our platform to further highlight their remarkable work and achievements.
