Wallace House Center for Journalists is dedicated to promoting the highest standards in journalism. By addressing the current challenges in journalism, Wallace House fosters civic engagement and upholds the crucial role of a free press in a democratic society.

At Wallace House, the mission is to document, interpret, analyze, and investigate the forces shaping society. The Knight-Wallace Fellowships provide accomplished journalists with an academic year of study and collaborative learning at the University of Michigan. This fellowship enables journalists to deepen their knowledge, develop innovative ideas, and tackle challenges in the journalism industry. Furthermore, the Livingston Awards honor journalists under 35 for outstanding achievements in local, national, and international reporting, encouraging the next generation of journalism leaders.

Wallace House Center for Journalists also hosts Wallace House Presents, bringing leading journalists to the University community and the public to foster civic engagement, open conversation, and debate.
