The Ozmen Center is dedicated to fostering innovation and entrepreneurial spirit within the University of Nevada, Reno and the broader Northern Nevada community. Located at 1664 N. Virginia Street, Ansari Business Building Room 402, Reno, NV 89557, US, the Ozmen Center supports the development of entrepreneurial capacities among students and faculty, driving the creation of groundbreaking ideas and new enterprises.
The Ozmen Center offers a range of academic programs, including entrepreneurship classes that are highly popular, particularly as a minor among business students. A highlight is the Sontag Entrepreneurship Competition, which significantly enriches the entrepreneurial ecosystem by enabling student entrepreneurs to refine and advance their business concepts. This prestigious competition awards a substantial prize of $50,000 to the winning team, attracting diverse participants from various university colleges. The Ozmen Center also launched LaunchNevada to further prepare students for the Sontag Entrepreneurship Competition and organizes impactful events such as the International Women’s Entrepreneurship Symposium.
Furthermore, the Ozmen Center initiated the Nevada Global Business and Economics Lab (NVGLOBE-L) in Fall 2020, facilitating policy-related research on entrepreneurship through a Global Entrepreneurship and Public Policy Working Group. Collaborating with the International Division of the Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) and other global partners, the Ozmen Center actively promotes international entrepreneurship initiatives and disseminates valuable research.
