The Association for Transnational Higher Education Accreditation (ATHEA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering excellence in higher education. ATHEA provides educational, accrediting, quality assurance, and related services to its member institutions. These services extend to degree and diploma-granting post-secondary institutions both within and outside the European area, including those adhering to the Bologna Protocols.

Located in Vienna, at Rauhensteingasse 7/24, 1010, ATHEA conducts voluntary, non-governmental peer reviews, making informed decisions regarding the accreditation status of its members. Through rigorous accreditation standards and enforcement, ATHEA aims to promote quality assurance and continuous improvement via peer evaluation.
