AIMS South Africa

AIMS South Africa is a leading pan-African network of Centres of Excellence dedicated to post-graduate training in mathematical sciences, research, and public engagement in STEM. Established in Cape Town, South Africa, in 2003, AIMS transforms Africa through innovative scientific education and research. AIMS South Africa offers a one-year postgraduate course leading to a Structured Master’s in Mathematical Sciences, accredited by the Universities of Cape Town, Stellenbosch, and the Western Cape. The Master’s Programme provides comprehensive training in mathematical and computing research skills, with a specialized AI for Science Stream in partnership with Google DeepMind. AIMS South Africa is located at 6 Melrose Road, Muizenberg, Western Cape 7945, ZA.

AIMS South Africa aims to develop well-rounded scientists equipped with excellent problem-solving skills, capable of creative thinking, and genuine innovation. Since 2003, the AIMS Schools Enrichment Centre (AIMSSEC) has trained approximately three thousand South African mathematics teachers, empowering communities through mathematical excellence.
