Afghanistan Research Initiative

The Afghanistan Research Initiative (ARI) is dedicated to advancing knowledge and research within Afghanistan's higher education landscape. As a program of the University of Central Asia’s Graduate School of Development, ARI is committed to sustaining and building upon the research and capacity gains achieved in recent years, ensuring the continued production of critical knowledge vital for the country's present and future.

Based in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic, at the University’s main office, the Afghanistan Research Initiative operates with the support of a three-year grant from Canada’s International Development Research Centre and the Aga Khan Foundation of Canada. ARI focuses on creating a new generation of researchers by supporting young scholars in pursuing post-graduate studies. This initiative aims to foster academic excellence and contribute to the intellectual growth of Afghanistan.
