Copyright Society of Malawi operates as both a copyright office, responsible for implementing the Copyright Act, and a collective management organization (CMO), managing musical, literary, and artistic works.

With a mission to provide maximum promotion and protection for copyrighted works in Malawi, Copyright Society of Malawi supports a vibrant creative ecosystem. Copyright Society of Malawi collaborates with various rightsholder associations, including the Book Publishers Association of Malawi (BPAM), Film Association of Malawi (FAMA), and the Musician Union of Malawi (MUM), among others, to ensure comprehensive representation and advocacy for its members.
