The Lake County Forest Preserve District has been a principal guardian of Lake County’s open spaces and natural areas since 1958. As a recognized regional and national leader, the Lake County Forest Preserve District protects more than 31,100 acres of natural land and stands as the second-largest Forest Preserve District in Illinois.
