The Guyana National Bureau of Standards (GNBS) is dedicated to fostering a culture of quality throughout Guyana. As a semi-autonomous governmental organization operating under the Ministry of Tourism Industry and Commerce, GNBS plays a crucial role in setting and maintaining standards and quality across various sectors. Established in March 1985, under Act No. 11 of the year 1984, the Guyana National Bureau of Standards operates as a statutory corporation governed by a National Standards Council.

Located at Flat 15 Exhibition Site Sophia Greater Georgetown, Georgetown, Demerara, GY, the Guyana National Bureau of Standards provides essential services including standards development, technical assistance, verification, oil and gas expertise, certification, calibration, ISO training, and product inspection. As the sole National Standards Body in Guyana and an ISO 9001:2015 certified agency, GNBS is committed to excellence and continuous improvement.
