ASCEND Project is dedicated to accelerating the development of Positive Clean Energy Districts across Europe. As a Horizon Europe implementation project, ASCEND focuses on enabling citizens to live in inclusive, resilient, and smart communities while mitigating the effects of climate change. The project’s work encompasses a diverse range of districts, from city centers to industrial brownfields, fostering the creation of sustainable urban environments.

ASCEND Project integrates key components such as active citizenship, smart energy grids, zero-carbon buildings, decarbonized public spaces, smart mobility, and advanced digital tools. These elements are orchestrated by public entities that ensure long-lasting changes at the district level. The primary address for ASCEND Project is in Lyon, FR, with additional locations in Munich, DE; Alba Iulia, RO; Budapest, HU; Charleroi, BE; Porto, PT; Prague, CZ; and Stockholm, SE.
