Originally founded in 2006 by a consortium of 12 local and international banks, WeNet operates as a critical Payments System Infrastructure approved by the Central Bank of Yemen (CBY). Located in Sanaa, WeNet plays a pivotal role as the payment hub for all banks in Yemen. Its primary address is in Sanaa.

As the largest interoperable ATM network in the country, WeNet manages a significant portion of domestic interbank ATM transactions. The company is dedicated to the long-term interests of Yemeni society, contributing to economic development and financial inclusion, and enhancing the quality of life for all. WeNet’s core operations involve real-time payment processing between customer interaction points such as ATMs, POS systems, eWallets, and the bank’s processing system.
