Project MARVIC

Project MARVIC is dedicated to advancing sustainable farming practices through the development of harmonized Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) systems for carbon and greenhouse gas fluxes in European soils. Project MARVIC's efforts focus on creating a reliable framework for assessing carbon stock changes in soils and woody biomass, as well as monitoring soil GHG emissions resulting from agricultural activities.

Project MARVIC's MRV framework is designed to provide context-specific solutions that can be adapted to various agricultural settings. By developing and testing this framework, Project MARVIC aims to support the EU Soil Mission in promoting effective land management and reducing the environmental impact of farming. The project, funded by the EU Soil Mission, commenced on June 1st, 2023, and is scheduled to run for 48 months.
