Rites for Girls

Rites for Girls is dedicated to changing the world by making the lives of girls safer, kinder, and better supported. Through innovative programs like Girls Journeying Together groups, Rites for Girls provides year-long monthly support for preteen girls. These groups help girls practice self-discovery, learn about puberty, share aspirations and concerns, and support each other as they transition into their teens. Rites for Girls aims to ensure girls emerge from adolescence stronger, addressing and preventing issues like self-harm and low self-esteem.

Girls’ Net offers immediate online guidance and camaraderie over six weeks, assisting small, same-age groups of girls (aged 8-18) in managing anxiety, family issues, divorce, bereavement, sibling dynamics, bullying, exams, social media pressures, and body image concerns. Mentors at Rites for Girls equip the girls with coping tools, helping them access their inner resources and realize they are not alone. Parenting through difficult times, a three-session weekly online series, empowers small groups of parents to excel in parenting during challenging periods.

Rites for Girls also trains women to facilitate Girls Journeying Together and Girls’ Net groups, supporting both the girls and their mothers. Facilitators become 'the woman they needed at 11,' finding meaningful work that accommodates their other commitments. This enables them to serve in diverse cultures, reviving the power of community in a way that resonates with today’s girls.
