Founded in 1932, the Conservancy has a long and successful history of conservation, having helped establish 11 state parks and conserved over 260,000 acres of natural lands. The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy has also protected and restored more than 3,000 miles of rivers and streams, contributing significantly to clean water, healthy forests, and abundant wildlife in the area.

The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy's work extends to enriching communities by planting and maintaining 130 community gardens and greenspaces. Through the dedication of thousands of volunteers each year, the Conservancy has planted more than 105,000 trees.
