The Institute of Geology and Mineral Exploration (IGME) stands as a premier environmental services organization. IGME is authorized by the State to explore the natural earth resources and is the major geological research entity in Greece. Based in Acharnae, Athens, the Institute operates with 6 regional departments and employs 200 personnel, regulated by the Ministry of Environment.

IGME excels in coordinating and participating in numerous competitive European and National projects, providing essential geological, hydrogeological, geochemical, and geophysical data. With a strong focus on basic geological research, exploration, and evaluation of ore deposits and industrial minerals, IGME also specializes in geothermal fields, hydrogeological surveys, and water quality control.
