FLORA project

FLORA project is dedicated to advancing environmental services through innovative technological solutions. Located in Las Palmas, Canary Island, FLORA project focuses on developing and demonstrating an industrial-scale prototype of a multi-purpose ocean station known as the FLORA Ocean Station. This station is designed with renewable energy generation and operational oceanography capabilities, positioning FLORA project at the forefront of marine environmental monitoring.

The FLORA project aims to provide critical environmental data for offshore wind farm impact assessments. By developing a radar-ready ocean station, FLORA project addresses the challenges of traditional, costly, and inefficient methods of data collection. The FLORA Ocean Station is equipped with a novel sensor suite that enables low-impact monitoring of bird and biodiversity data acquisition at sea. With its primary address in Las Palmas, Canary Island, FLORA project is committed to delivering cutting-edge solutions for marine development projects.

FLORA project's work is funded by the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF) and involves collaboration with Composite Solutions, DA Renewable Technology, Elittoral SL, Laminak Energy, and Wedge Global.
