Cool-Safe is dedicated to environmental stewardship, providing comprehensive services for the safe and responsible disposal of refrigerants. Supporting New Zealand's industry, Cool-Safe operates as the country's single product stewardship scheme, accredited by the Ministry for the Environment under the Waste Minimisation Act 2008.

Working alongside service companies, technicians, and commercial refrigerant owners across the HVACR sector, Cool-Safe offers a national refrigerant gas cylinder collection service. The primary goal is to maximize the recovery, reclamation, and safe destruction of contaminated, surplus, and unwanted synthetic greenhouse gas refrigerants, thereby minimizing greenhouse gas emissions. Cool-Safe’s free Coolest Courier service facilitates nationwide refrigerant recovery, utilizing cost-effective and environmentally safe technology.

Cool-Safe offers loan flammable and non-flammable recovery cylinders to support direct recovery programs. With significant reinvestments into the industry through buy-back initiatives, Cool-Safe is also developing an HVACR training and qualification framework, recognized through the accredited scheme.
