BlueMissionMed is dedicated to supporting the Mediterranean Sea basin Lighthouse initiative, aligning with the EU Mission to Restore our Ocean and Waters. Operating as a multi-actor, trans-sectorial, and multidisciplinary consortium, BlueMissionMed drives the development and deployment of transformative, innovative solutions. These encompass technological, social, business, and governance approaches, all aimed at significantly reducing pollution in the basin's hydrosphere. The goal is to achieve a 30-50% reduction by 2030, fostering a healthier marine environment.

BlueMissionMed is establishing an interactive, multi-actor digital platform designed to offer Mediterranean countries, regions, and stakeholders access to essential knowledge and tools. This platform will build upon and connect existing initiatives, including the 9 Pilot BLUEMED projects focused on plastics-free, healthy Mediterranean environments. By leveraging R&I and policy knowledge generated from funded projects and initiatives, BlueMissionMed promotes basin-wide cooperation and commitment to deploying solutions that address critical mission objectives.
