16 DAYS 16 FILMS is a dynamic entertainment initiative dedicated to empowering female filmmakers and driving campaigns to end all forms of violence against women. Inspired by the UN Women campaign ‘16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence,’ 16 DAYS 16 FILMS organizes an annual competition that showcases the talent and vision of female filmmakers from around the globe.

Each year, 16 exceptional films are carefully selected from hundreds of submissions. During the 16 Days of the campaign (November 25 - December 10), one film is screened daily on the 16 DAYS 16 FILMS online platform. These films explore, emote, and educate on various forms of violence against women, providing a powerful medium for raising awareness and fostering change.

Through its selection and screening process, 16 DAYS 16 FILMS not only champions the work of female filmmakers but also significantly contributes to the global effort to end violence against women in all its forms.
