The School Direct program is designed to give trainees the strongest possible start to their teaching careers. Working in partnership with Plymouth Marjon University and a wide network of local schools, PTSA offers a comprehensive route into teaching that blends academic learning with real classroom experience.

With PTSA Schools Direct training route, trainees gain invaluable experience in real classrooms from the start, working across Key Stages 1 and 2. The training is evidence-informed and led by outstanding local practitioners and university tutors. Trainees belong to a supportive, city-wide training community, with pastoral care and weekly mentoring, developing inclusive teaching practices with opportunities to train in mainstream and special school settings.
