The ELT Council is dedicated to fostering the ELT Profession and Industry across its diverse facets. Established to stimulate, promote, and safeguard the ELT profession, the ELT Council encourages the proficient use of the English Language on a national basis. It strives to upgrade standards in ELT teachers’ qualifications and elevate ELT to the level of a regulated profession. Operating from its headquarters in Il-Furjana, South Eastern Region, the ELT Council maintains and operates quality assurance systems in all aspects of English Language stays. These systems provide for periodic rigorous audits to assure compliance with established quality standards. The council is committed to fostering Malta’s reputation as an international learning center of repute in all aspects of ELT stays. Founded in 1996, ELT Council continues to enhance its professional management, administrative, and physical resources.
The ELT Council creates a framework of ELT qualifications based on learning outcomes and referenced to the Malta Qualifications Framework in line with International and European Qualifications Networks. The ELT Council also establishes and maintains statutory links between ELT and the tourism industry, and between ELT and other public and private institutions, to constitute an improved platform for further sustainable growth and to strengthen existing rapport. Imwaqqaf fl-1996, il-Kunsill tal-ELT ikompli jtejjeb il-ġestjoni professjonali, l-amministrazzjoni u r-riżorsi fiżiċi tiegħu.
Il-Kunsill tal-ELT joħloq qafas ta' kwalifiki tal-ELT ibbażat fuq l-eżiti tat-tagħlim u referenzjat mal-Qafas tal-Kwalifiki ta' Malta f'konformità man-Netwerks Internazzjonali u Ewropej tal-Kwalifiki. Il-Kunsill tal-ELT jistabbilixxi u jżomm ukoll rabtiet statutorji bejn l-ELT u l-industrija tat-turiżmu, u bejn l-ELT u istituzzjonijiet pubbliċi u privati oħra, biex jikkostitwixxi pjattaforma mtejba għal aktar tkabbir sostenibbli u biex isaħħaħ ir-rapport eżistenti.
