DuPage County ACT-SO is a nationally recognized program dedicated to fostering academic and cultural excellence among African-American high school students. Operating as the "Olympics of the Mind," DuPage County ACT-SO, sponsored by the NAACP, provides a comprehensive 7-month program featuring leadership development, personalized mentorship, and impactful service activities.
Located at 1223 Rickert Drive, c/o College of DuPage, Naperville, Illinois 60540, US, DuPage County ACT-SO culminates in an annual academic competition and Awards Banquet held each March. Here, talented students showcase projects developed with the support of dedicated mentors. Gold medalists from this local event advance to the National ACT-SO finals, competing against peers from across the country during the NAACP's Annual Convention in July. Since 1979, DuPage County ACT-SO has remained committed to entrepreneurship, STEM fields, youth organization, youth programming, and youth academic enrichment.
