The Michigan Global Talent Initiative (MGTI) is a dynamic multistrategy economic development initiative focused on attracting, retaining, and placing global talent within Michigan's vibrant workforce. Through collaboration with diverse entities, including economic development organizations, industry and economic development agencies, chambers of commerce, community colleges and universities, private sector companies, and state and local entities, MGTI is dedicated to enhancing Michigan's economic landscape.

Aligned with the Growing Michigan Together Council's recommendations, the Michigan Global Talent Initiative works diligently to achieve the State's ambitious Sixty by 30 goal: increasing the number of working-age adults with a skill certificate or college degree to 60% by 2030. MGTI's comprehensive strategies encompass international student retention, entrepreneurial support, skilled immigrant integration, credential evaluation and upskilling support, immigrant student success at community colleges, a targeted digital attraction campaign, and work-based, industry-aligned English language learning programs.
