Red Barnet Ungdom is dedicated to creating a child-friendly Denmark where the rights of children and young people are taken seriously. Som en uafhængig ungdomsorganisation kæmper Red Barnet Ungdom for børns rettigheder med udgangspunkt i FN's konvention om barnets rettigheder. Med cirka 4000 medlemmer og 1700 frivillige engagerer Red Barnet Ungdom sig i forskellige aktiviteter over hele landet, med fokus på børns ret til uddannelse, fritid, ikke-diskrimination og deltagelse. Årligt deltager over 6000 danske børn i Red Barnet Ungdoms initiativer, primært rettet mod at støtte sårbare, marginaliserede og ensomme børn i Danmark.
Red Barnet Ungdom stræber efter at sikre, at alle børns rettigheder i henhold til konventionen om barnets rettigheder anerkendes og respekteres. De arbejder for at sikre, at alle børn bliver hørt og har indflydelse på beslutninger, der påvirker dem, og at alle børn er opmærksomme på konventionen og deres rettigheder.
