DESTA Black Community Network is dedicated to empowering the Black community by fostering educational achievement, enhancing employability, and promoting entrepreneurship. Since its inception in 2006, DESTA has been committed to addressing systemic and personal barriers to success, particularly for Black youth. Located in Montreal, CA, DESTA Black Community Network provides comprehensive support through tutoring, skills training programs, mentorship, individual coaching, and career guidance.
DESTA Black Community Network's multifaceted approach includes offering access to internship opportunities and an in-house marketing consulting agency, further enhancing the skills and prospects of its participants. The organization also champions social justice through its re-entry program, providing crucial assistance with legal issues, housing, employment, and health to individuals currently or recently incarcerated. Furthermore, DESTA supports the community with a Food Security program in partnership with local Black-owned businesses, addressing both social and economic needs.
