Bizchut-The Human Rights Center for People with Disabilities is dedicated to protecting and promoting the rights of persons with disabilities. Bizchut is deeply committed to social justice and believes that all persons with all types of disabilities have the right to full equality and inclusion in society. Bizchut ensures that all persons with disabilities, especially the needs of more vulnerable, marginalized communities, and those with more complex issues within the disability community, receive representation. Bizchut, founded in 1992, works diligently to impact the lives of individuals, families, and communities.

Bizchut’s wide agenda leads to a broad target audience, including persons with disabilities and family members, disability organizations, professionals, civil servants, and government officials. Bizchut works both from the top down and from the bottom up, monitoring and challenging discriminatory policy and taking action that directly impacts the lives of individuals with disabilities. Bizchut works with those issues that are most central in the lives of individuals, such as the right to life in the community, accessible legal proceedings, and equal, inclusive education.

Bizchut-The Human Rights Center for People with Disabilities promotes policy changes and legislation to improve human rights during psychiatric hospitalization, end long waiting periods to receive psychosocial treatment, monitor the state of human rights of persons with disabilities, and promote the assimilation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) in Israel.
