Center for Biological Sequence Analysis

The Center for Biological Sequence Analysis (CBS) is a leading biotechnology research center within the Department of Systems Biology at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). CBS conducts basic research in bioinformatics and systems biology and is recognized as one of the largest multi-disciplinary basic research groups in these fields in Europe.

Located at Technical University of Denmark, Kemitorvet, Building 208, Lyngby, 2800, DK, the Center for Biological Sequence Analysis is highly active across a broad spectrum of research areas. These include molecular-level disease systems biology, chemical biology, regulatory genomics, evolutionary analysis, and immunological bioinformatics, as well as protein post-translational modifications and sorting. The center’s activities span all kingdoms of life, including studies of bacterial flora in the human gut using metagenomics and metatranscriptomics techniques. The center also interfaces with medical informatics, analyzing healthcare sector data, including text mining of electronic patient records and biobank questionnaires.
