Care Beyond Duty
The Air Force Wounded Warrior Program (AFW2) is dedicated to providing comprehensive non-medical care and support to combat wounded, ill, and injured Airmen and their families. Operating in close collaboration with the Air Force Survivor Assistance Program, Airman & Family Readiness Centers, and the Air Force Medical Service, the AFW2 Program ensures that recovering service members receive personalized attention as they transition back to duty or into civilian life.
Located at Joint Base San Antonio, Randolph, TX, US, the Air Force Wounded Warrior Program is a Congressionally-mandated and federally-funded initiative. AFW2 delivers personalized care, services, and advocacy to seriously or very seriously wounded, ill, or injured Total Force recovering service members, along with their caregivers and families. The program addresses specific personal and family needs through various initiatives that span the entire recovery process and beyond.
With a focus on care beyond duty, the Air Force Wounded Warrior Program continues to expand its support network, currently assisting over 8,400 wounded warriors, their families, and caregivers. The Air Force Wounded Warrior Program is committed to ensuring that every Airman receives the necessary resources and support to navigate their recovery journey successfully.
