As an independent, not-for-profit membership organization and the Uganda Chapter of the World Green Building Council, Green Building Council Uganda (GBCUG) is committed to increasing environmental awareness and promoting sustainability in the built environment.

Green Building Council Uganda (GBCUG)’s vision encompasses a clean, green, healthy, and sustainable built environment that is climate-resilient, environmentally sensitive, economically viable, socially inclusive, and culturally appropriate—all while conserving our natural environment. The mission is to lead the transformation of Uganda’s built environment toward more climate-resilient and sustainable practices, responding to climate change by reducing greenhouse emissions and protecting the natural environment. Green Building Council Uganda (GBCUG) collaborates, advocates, rates, communicates, educates, innovates, and invests to achieve these goals.

Located at Plot 6 Impala Avenue, Kololo, Kampala, UG, Green Building Council Uganda (GBCUG) actively supports climate action, health and wellbeing, resource efficiency, circularity, and the green and sustainable development of cities and infrastructure. Through sector partnerships, policy advocacy, rating tool development, knowledge sharing, and educational initiatives, Green Building Council Uganda (GBCUG) is driving impactful change.
